Kids Camp
CalimaSurf Lanzarote is organizing summer camps in July 2010 for teens from 12 to 17 years old in the nature park of Famara. We offer the kids the chance to get started in different sports like surfing, kite-surfing, or diving, with all the necessary safety measures.
Our surf instructors are certified by the BSA (British Surfing Association) by the Spanish Federation of Surf; our kitesurf instructors are certified by the FKI (Italian Federation) and our diving instructors by the BSAC. All of the instructors are certified lifeguards.
The kids will be picked up at the airport on the day of arrival and on the last day they will be accompanied up to the moment of check-in.
They will stay in our surf-houses in Famara, one with a capacity for 16 children and the other for 10 children. The houses are located less than 100 meters from the beach.
There are rooms of 2, 4, and 6 persons, with separate accommodations for boys and girls. The two houses have everything necessary for a comfortable sports holiday at the beach with a fully-equipped kitchen, 28” TV, DVD, common areas of barbeque, salons, bathrooms and large terraces.
In each house, a male or female instructor, a graduate of Physical Education and Sport Science, and with experience in outdoor games will stay with the kids and will be responsible for making sure that the children respect the rules of the camp. The instructor will also be in charge of the extra activities in the afternoon (beach volleyball, Canarian boules, hiking, mountain biking, and games).
For the kids, the 12 to 17 year olds may choose to contract a half-board (breakfasts and dinners from Monday to Saturday) via the company Catering de Lanzarote.
Monday to Saturday includes lunch at the beach, with big, hot sandwiches (meat, fish, pork loin, Spanish omelette…) all with salad, energy bar, fruit juices and water.
Fifty-meters from the house, there are various supermarkets, a hamburger bar, a croissanterie, tapas bars and restaurants with a different daily menu, all so that everyone can organize meals to their own taste, and if they wish, they can use the house kitchen to cook.
Each participant will have a change of bed linen and towels once a week.
The surf activities will last 5 hours a day with a ratio of 8 children per instructor, the instruction will be done with special material for beginners that guarantee the maximum safety in the sport. This activity includes lunch at around 13.00 from Monday to Saturday
The kitesurf activities will last 3 hours per day with a ratio of 4 children per instructor. As with the surf school, the kitesurf school also includes all the material necessary for the activity to ensure maximum safety. We reduce the meters of the kite lines, and we work with radio assistance for greater control.
The diving activities are subcontracted and are carried out under the organization of the diving school of Lanzarote, located in the area of Costa Teguise, 25 km. from Famara. The diving school will pick up the children and take them to the dive center where the 4-hour starter’s diving course is held. This dive school includes accident and liability insurance, hyperbaric chamber, and BSAC qualified instructors.
The mountain bike excursions will be easy routes and no more than 40 km. The bicycles are of high quality of the brand TREK 3500, 3700, 3900 and standard approved helmets. On this excursion a light, energetic picnic lunch is included.
The hiking excursions have a duration of four hours, and, in general, we will visit the surrounding areas of the Timanfaya National Park, the descent of the Mirador del Río, the coast between Famara- Caleta Caballo and its volcanoes, or the ascent to the volcano of the Corona. We will choose the route depending on the weather conditions.

*Sundays are arrival and departure days for the summer camps, although you can always make a request to start on any weekday.

You can start the camp any day of the week

You can also come with a friend who doesn't want to surf or participate in any sport activities. Your friend joins you during surf school days and simply enjoys the beach every day in full confort, participating with you in all the extra camp activities.
